Teens
We also look after many younger clients. We endeavor to allay all fears and also the fears of the parents, as we understand that this is a traumatic experience for all involved.
Although we will advise on colour and styles, as with all our clients, the final choice of hair piece is yours. Young clients may experience more doubts about the choice. We suggest that you might like to revisit with your closest friend or friends to seek their advice.
Catherine
Catherine is fifteen and first came in to us with her parents. All were traumatized. When we gave her advice on colour and a new style, it was obvious she was having doubts about what she wanted.
We suggested that Catherine return with some friends. When Catherine came back with two of her friends, the atmosphere was totally different from the first visit. The fear that she was going to look different had gone. Everybody was chatty, and all were excited looking at the displays.
One of her friends said:"Go on, try the long blonde 'Cher' hair piece." Then, the 'Spice Girl' one. However, in the end, when I put on the hair piece of her choice, everybody agreed:
"It looks just like you! I can't believe it! It looks so real. You look really great."Her friends had just said the words, that had her parents said, they might not have been believed. She had just got approval from her own peers. Then they all hugged each other and cried with joy.
One year on, Catherine came in to us for her final hair cut on her new growth of hair. She then threw away her hair piece and went out with a short spiky cut with red highlights a style that a year ago, she thought she would hate and never wear. She looked amazing and full of confidence.
